TeacherTraining

This is an experiential course over two weekends two months apart. This course introduces mindfulness teachers and other facilitators to delivering mindful movement with its psychological implications to their groups. The course is experiential: guided practice, discussion and information on how to work clearly, openly and kindly with our own and other's unreliable bodies.

‘The body never lies. Its tone, color, posture, proportions, movements, tensions, and vitality express the person within. These signs are a clear language to those who have learned to read them. The body says things about one’s emotional history and deepest feelings, one’s character and personality.’ (Kurtz)

The first weekend, Mapping the Movement and Rooting the Practice, offers each participant an embodied set of safe, simple, healing and gentle - yet powerful - movements for them to explore in their own practice and with their groups. During the second weekend, Reading The Body, the experience gained by course participants between the sessions will be reviewed. Participants will investigate in movement the balance of the inner environment with the skeleton: how to see and identify imbalance and work safely with differing postures so to bring the body back into balance - and how all the work is a central part of mindfulness practice.

"The course was great and I left feeling relaxed, enriched and inspired.  I enjoyed the interesting mix of people and I appreciated the subtle way you identified our specific requirements and encouraged us gently and with great skill towards our goals." Shona January 2012

It may be that you already have a movement practice but have yet to discover a seamless link between this and the other aspects of Mindfulness practice - if so, this course will be helpful and illuminating.

The small group of participants will be offered insight into working safely with differing ages and conditions, facing their own and other's projections and setting up support systems between the two weekends.

B&B Accommodation is available for six particiants in three en-suite twin rooms at Mill House Farm, other B&Bs available nearby. Details and travel directions sent on request.
